Traditionally at the heart of the Jazz Festival Da Vinci’s Hotel prides itself in delivering top quality entertainment throughout the festival and this May 4th is no different.
Hot off the back of their collaboration with Michael Buble on his recent album ‘To Be Loved’, The Puppini Sisters are regular faces on some of the nation’s favourite TV shows – including The Graham Norton Show, ITV’s Christmas with Michael Buble, Good Morning, Loose Women and The Royal Variety Show
The Puppini Sisters are in demand and are sure to be a popular choice when they return to the City of Derry following from their successful appearance last year in ‘The Venue’, The chosen venue on this occasion is Da Vinci’s Hotel Culmore Road The Puppini Sisters headline the finale on Sunday 4th May 2014, and share the bill with festival favourites The Jive Aces, Red Stripe Band and Jay Dee Brass Band making for one of the best finale line ups to date .
Derry City Council Event Organiser Terence O’Kane said the glamorous group were a welcome addition to a first rate line up. “I’m absolutely delighted to welcome the Puppini Sisters back to the city for what will undoubtedly be a superb performance going by last year’s reviews,” he said. “The fact this talented trio are returning to the city for a repeat performance is testimony to the warm welcome they received and I’m sure that once again they will be playing to a packed crowd.”
“The Puppini Sisters are just one highlight in an outstanding line-up of talent this year, which will be even bigger and brighter than ever with a whole host of new names and familiar faces. Just keep an eye on the Jazz Festival website and Facebook for all the latest information on all the events.”
Historically Da Vinci’s Hotel has been at the heart of Jazz Festival for the last 13 years hosting some of the Festival’s most memorable nights with Legends such as Ruby Turner, Digby Fair-Weather, The Jive Aces, Acker Bilk and the late Kenny Ball but to name a few. Kenny Ball and Acker Bilk were lifelong friends playing on the same stage on numerous occasions but never together. However in 2009 Kenny Ball and Acker Bilk performed in Da Vinci’s Hotel together - the one and only time! The Stars of the Commitments were also regular finale headliners. This year’s finale performance by The Puppini Sisters/Jive Aces is sure to be equally memorable. With an interesting mix of influences raging from updated swing versions of pop hits and swing classics alike, the Puppini Sisters will bring more than a touch of glamour to the festival finale.
