Derry is known for its bustling city centre but with over 9,000 acres of outdoor green spaces it is the perfect destination to escape and explore the great outdoors!

Located on the hotels doorstep is the Bay Road Nature Reserve, which is a 20 hectre green space which provides impressive scenery of the Foyle Bridge, River & cityscape. With over 1 mile of pathway its perfect for the family to enjoy a leisurely stroll or unpack the bikes from your car and enjoy the extended cycle path which leads from the park directly onto the Foyle Quay and beyond. If you want to enjoy some family fun the city has many parks each with their own unique appeal 

Playtrail (approx 5 min drive)

The Playtrail is a unique play & educational facility that incorporates a number of significant play facilities, Woodland Fairy Walk, outdoor auditorium, straw bale house (Ecobase) and community allotment scheme. All facilities are linked by an accessible trail network.

Brooke Park (approx 10 min drive)

With over 8 hectares of public park the space hosts a range of family friendly activities including children's play area, fish pond, cafe with ice cream counter and football pitches. 

St Columbs Park (approx 10 min drive)

Named after St Columba, the city's patron saint, this 70 acre park has both historical sites such as the ruins of a medieval church and 18th century manor house as well as a modern play park, cafe and cycle routes. More recently the park is now home to a fairy garden and worry tree for the little ones to enjoy and indulge their imagination
